Rice has a long-standing partnership with NASA, and many Rice graduates join NASA for careers
in engineering, among other fields. Some go on to become astronauts like Peggy Whitson, '86, who spent six months aboard the space station, where she conducted 21 investigations in human life and microgravity sciences.
